Darjeeling is famous for Kanchana Ganga (Golden Ganges, in Sanskrit) or Kanchendzonga the third highest mountain in the world and your dream train rides on the mountain. The name Darjeeling is initially a Sanskrit word - Durjaya Linga, meaning “Invincible Shiva.” On reaching Darjeeling, check-in at a hotel and do some sightseeing, before you start expeditions in the next day.
Early morning, you’ll set out for Tiger Hill to catch the sunrise and enjoy the glorious sight of the mountain Kanchana Ganga. Then you’ll visit places like the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, founded by Tenzing Norgay, Tibetan Refugee Centre, Happy Valley Tea Estate, etc.
Krishnanagar is your third day program, which has some interesting locations such as Mirik Bazaar and Sumendu Lake. The latter has rainbow like bridge and shikara rides. Bokar Gompa or monastery is another interesting place covered on this day. Stay overnight at a Darjeeling hotel.
On day four, you’ll have breakfast and reach Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station for your return journey.
